I would recommend it for music and creative genius, but there it ends. Clearly, we came to see Gunhild Carling, and he was not there to see us. He is entertaining but totally detached from the audience, doing nothing to get the crowd going or play off the energy they wanted to release. Gunhild seemed determined to get the concert over with, despite having many great songs to get people off their seats. In fact, he did not come out for an encore. Next time, Gunhild, just drive a stake through my heart and save me the hundreds I spent at the Hard Rock. Maybe I missed something. Many years ago, I went to see Jimi Hendrix – at the end of a short set, he and the band left the stage. The crowd was angry, and I sat in my seat wondering and talking with my friends. Twenty minutes later, Jimi came back out. Two-thirds of the crowd had left, but those who stayed got another half hour of musical genius. Did Gunhild ever come back? I was in a hurry to get out.
